Bands play in memory of young singer

Musicians are to honour the memory of a young singer-songwriter at a gig to raise money for the YMCA where he volunteered his services.

Dave ‘Hippie’ Windley of Mansfield was 25 when he lapsed into a diabetic coma and died in March this year.

Live music at The Waterfront bar in Nottingham this Saturday, June 13, will begin at 4pm with hip-hop and acoustic artists, then segue into hip-hop and rock in the evening until midnight.

Prime frontman Lee Heir said: “We will all have good memories of Dave’s great character and outstanding songs.”

A donation from the gig will go to YMCA Nottingham.
