Aisby weekend - fun for all

SUNDAY sees the return of Aisby & District Working Weekend - a popular outdoor attraction for all ages.

The second annual event kicks off at 10am on Sunday 2nd September in the village of Aisby, near Corringham.

Be fascinated by rural skills demonstrations, see vintage tractors at work, and enjoy some delicious refreshments in idyllic countryside surroundings.

Children will love being in the great outdoors and there’s plenty to keep them occupied with a variety of children’s entertainment.

How about corn dolly making... or wood carving?

And don’t forget the pony rides. The ponies from Beckside Stables at Upton are bound to charm the children, and teach them to be comfortable around animals.

“The 2011 Aisby Working Weekend was a very successful day attracting many visitors of all ages from near and far,” said organiser Sarah East.

All proceeds from the event will go towards Cancer Research UK.

l Follow the roadside signs to the event field from Gainsborough, Blyton and Corringham.
