I was sitting on the seating outside Cooplands last week, when I witnessed what could only be described as a traffic jam on an area that was made for pedestrians.
I did not know if I should laugh or cry at the wacky races efforts of drivers trying to ease past each other.

Sitting there, surrounded by exhaust fumes and revving engines, I wondered how much us local tax payers had to lay out for this quiet and peaceful shopping experience.

I looked back on the forecast of this area being made into a oasis of calm.

Then I realised, I was dreaming. After all, when has any council ever looked after our money they spend on what is neither pedestrianised nor a roadway?
