Superb shops at top end of town

I HAVE worked in Worksop for over 12 years, and read with interest in the Worksop Guardian how traders at the upper end of Bridge Street are trying to increase their customer members.
As someone who lives in Chesterfield, can I point out to your readers how lucky you are to have in this part of town several shops that are a credit to your town.

Despite my limited dinner break, I often visit Atherton’s shoe shop. This is an old-fashioned shoe shop with an excellent choice of quality shoes.

Also, my husband gives me a list of items he requires from Fred Harrison’s shop, that may also have been written in braille as I understand none of it!

However, the two gentlemen always help me with the kind of old-fashioned customer care that has long since gone.

Despite having in my own town several jewellers, I spend my precious dinner time in Castle Jewellers, as not only is the service excellent, they also always make me smile with their constant humour whilst giving good advice.

If the people of Worksop are not using this part of town, then it’s time they realised what quality shops you have on your doorstep and how lucky you are.
