I know I am not alone in wondering why Tesco has to be re-sited at all. Why can't they simply revamp their existing building which seems to work perfectly well with no major traffic problems and easy access.
There is land to the side if they wish to expand.

If they have to move to the proposed new site with all its attendant traffic problems then let the cinema multiplex use the present Tesco site on Gateford Road.

This would avoid yet another empty building going to rack and ruin, becoming an eyesore and a drug user’s haven and a fire risk.

It already has the entrances and parking facilities in place, and can someone please explain why a cinema has to have a supermarket in its immediate vicinity.

Worksop is not such a big place that people cannot move between the two if they wish to use both facilities.

This would then mean less traffic to consider when revising the Turner Road junction.

If Tesco is looking to sell its existing land for housing, I think Worksop has more than enough new houses without being of any benefit to the town and, as yet, no immediate plans to improve matters.

Bridge Street and the market are still in need of desperate attention.
