WHICH bright genius in the Government decided that the off-peak concessionary travel for over-60s should end at 11pm from Monday to Friday when most local buses are running half-empty, except at weekends?
This ludicrous ruling will create havoc on routes through villages where bingo players and pubgoers will be faced with the prospect of boarding their bus home, 10.59pm free, 11.01pm, full fare, but can go binge-drinking at weekends and Bank Holidays round the clock, which is off-peak and free.
