Through the letters page may I thank everyone once again for their continued support for our endeavours.
Monday 7th April’s departure to Albania marked fifteen years of operation by the Notts Police Aid Convoys.
Last year we sent or delivered 10 huge lorry loads of aid to Albania, Bulgaria, Russia and Zambia – a feat we expect to repeat or even exce
ed this year.
Three Wilko lorries, one B&Q lorry and two volunteer Wilko drivers were involved and were a hugely valuable asset.
The law decrees that NPAC must now become a registered charity, but we have directed that everyone will remain a volunteer and everything we use and take will be donated.
On 17th March a huge explosion occurred at an old munitions site at Gerdec, near Tirana, Albania. All the hospital resources including basic items like soap were exhausted, and they were eagerly anticipating our arrival. We intend to return as soon as funds allow to help them get over this dreadful setback.
Zambia needs educational and teaching training materials. The Dress for Cinderella project in Russia continues to flourish.
We are very good at reaching the parts that others can’t, and we feel privileged to be trusted with your goodwill and donations.
