It comes as no surprise that the council is backtracking on the multiplex/Tesco proposal - it was a bad idea to start with.
I was at the meeting they had in November 2006 and have never been to a more one-sided debate in my life. It was all cut and dried before this debate.

I bet they never have a planning meeting again with the public invited because they spoke more common sense than any member on that commitee did, but it fell on deaf ears.

Why don’t they ditch the Tesco proposal (after all we have got one) and build the multiplex which will be more of an asset to the town.

There has still been no explanation as to why Tesco cannot redevelop the site it is already on. If Sainsbury’s can do it, so can they.
