IF YOU’VE seen the film, bought the CDs and can’t go on a night out without becoming a Dancing Queen, then Super Trouper is the perfect show for you.
And YOUR Guardian has teamed up with Sheffield City Hall to offer three lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to next month’s show on Saturday 17th September.
Fresh from a smash hit US tour, Super Trouper celebrates both the music and style of the 70s pop sensations.
Reviving the times when ABBA ruled the airwaves, join in and enjoy all of your favourite ABBA hits including Mamma Mia, Voulez Vous, Dancing Queen, Winner Takes it All, Super Trouper and many more.
It has now been 32 years since ABBA last toured and in 1979 demand for tickets far outstripped availability.
Two Royal Albert Hall performances received two million requests for tickets, with only 5,000 available. In short, it was the hottest ticket in town.
Even today Super Trouper continues to grip the nation performing countless tributes on television, radio and of course the hugely popular stage hit Mamma Mia! - now adapted into a feature film.
There are no signs that ABBA’s popularity is slowing down.
Super Trouper, the highly polished and professional production was created in 1999 and played its first shows in 2000.
In 2002 Super Trouper was invited to perform at London’s West End and played for 18 weeks at the Strand Theatre.
In November 2002 the show made its German debut at the Deutsches Theatre Munich where it sold every seat in the house for 21 performances.
In the 2003 Super Trouper toured extensively throughout Europe selling out theatres wherever it performed, including 24 consecutive shows in the Schiller Theatre in Berlin and Cologne Arena selling 10,000 tickets in one night.
In the years since then the show has evolved to boast a brand new production, new costumes, new stage set, and will be performing all your favourite ABBA hits.
Super Trouper comes to Sheffield City Hall’s Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall on Saturday 17th September. Doors open 6.30pm, the show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available now priced £19.50, with concessions from £10.00 and family tickets £12.50. Call the box office on 0114 278 9789 to book.
