NEXT year marks the 20th anniversary of Creswell pit closing.

But a dedicated brass band keeps the music of the miners alive and kicking.

Creswell Colliery Brass Band still practices every week, rolling out bombastic tunes from bygone times, and some more modern numbers.

One such song is the aptly named Creswell Crags by Harold Moss, inspired by the ancient limestone gorge.

The band warmly welcomes new players with an interest in joining.

No prior musical experience is needed and an instrument is provided.
