Inspired by the smash hit multi-million selling albums, the West End sell out sensation Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical features some of the greatest hit songs of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era. In 1961 emotions run high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national song writing competition and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue. But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock ‘n’ roll fame beckons.

This breathtaking Lincoln Center Theater production reinvented Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical. Ahead of the release of their new album, wonder-pop merchants Haiku Salut stop off in Nottingham for a special free gig in CAST. Haiku Salut are an instrumental trio that use accordions, ukeleles, glockenspiels, pianos, loops & laptops to create folky soundscapes akin to early múm and the delightful soundtracks of Yann Tiersen. Support comes from hotly tipped Nottingham-based singer-songwriter Georgie Rose.

Theatre Royal Nottingham: English Youth Ballet - Swan Lake. Friday 27th July - Saturday 28th July. Performance 7.30pm, Saturday 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets £14-£20.

English Youth Ballet bring their brand new production of Swan Lake to the Theatre Royal. Set in Russia at the time when the Marinsky Ballet was popular with the Tsar and the Russian nobility, Swan Lake will be a traditional production but with particular emphasis on the rivalry between the beautiful but vulnerable White Swan, Odette, and the seductively evil Black Swan, Odile, as they compete for the affections of the Prince. A rivalry that leads to a tragic and dramatic finale.
