Students in Worksop have been strutting their very own stuff on the catwalk.

Girls at the Worksop Post 16 Centre took part in a fashion show, modelling the clothes made by AS and A2 Art and Design students at the centre.

Teacher Michelle Buck said students had really dressed to impress. “It was a really successful night and the kids really did us proud,” she said.

The show involved mostly Post 16 girls, but there were a few younger Valley students and two boys that also joined in. Student teacher Cheryl Greene arranged the fashion show and managed to secure sponsorship for the event from New Look and Matalan.

The shops provided clothes for the students to model alongside the students’ own work that they had made from recycled materials.

Money raised from the show is going to the Art and Design Department at the Post 16 Centre.

Some of the students also held a bake sale to raise money for a student conservation trip to Cuba next year.
