Sham 69 and Nizlopi to headline the Whitwell Festival of Music

Nizlopi are best known for their 2005 hit The JCB Song which was a Christmas number one,

Meanwhile, punk stalwarts Sham 69 have been live favourites for 40 years thanks to hits like Hersham Boys, If The Kids Are United and Hurry Up Harry.

Now into it’s eighth year. the festival is continuing to go from strength to strength.

This year’s event takes place on September 9, 10 and 11 and once again it is a not-for-profit event with all the money raised going to local charities.

As ever, organisers are promising three days of top class live entertainment. This year will see three stages on the Saturday with a spoken word stage, along with the obligatory workshops, children’s entertainment, food and gift stalls.

As well as Nizlopi and Sham 69, the line-up includes festival favourites Jungle Lion, the wildly inventive Funke and the Two Tone Baby and the Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican.

They are joined by Leatherat, Parson’s Lot, The Leathernecks, Black Thorn, Bondy’s Heroes, Ben Miles, Back To Verona, Star Botherers, Bell Hagg Orkestar, Northern Monkey, Taxi For Bob, Morris & Watson, Porch Lizards, Brain Stone and more n an eclectic mix.

Adult prices are £24 for the full weekend, or £12 for Saturday only, with reduced prices for under-17s
