FUN for all the family is on offer in Sheffield this Christmas as the City Hall plays host to the top panto of Aladdin - and The Guardian have tickets to be won.
Join the Manor Operatic Society on their 25th Anniversary this Christmas with their special annual pantomime at Sheffield City Hall from Thursday 27th December 2012 to 6th January 2013.
They celebrate their commemorative with the magical far-eastern themed story of Aladdin.
Join in and become engrossed in the spectacle of the traditional panto as street urchin Aladdin and Princess Jasmine fly on a magic carpet ride through the dusty streets of Agrabah.
The story takes you on a spectacular journey as they fight their way through baddies and villains to try and retrieve the magical lamp from the mysterious Cave of Wonders.
But will they live happily ever after, or will the baddie prevail and darkness descend over the panto? Expect cheers, hisses and laughs all round.
In traditional panto style, extra characters provide the much loved slapstick comedy element; two eccentric Chinese police men, Wong and Pong, the wicked baddy, feared magician Abanazar and the larger than life Widow Twankey.
Laugh out loud at the famous baking scene, the sing songs and musical buckets game are always a delight for everyone.
Featuring a glittering stage set and some of the productions most famous songs such as Arabian Nights and A Whole New World, Aladdin is the perfect panto for all the family this Christmas and New Year.
As always, join in with the camaraderie of the season with plenty of ‘He’s behind you!’ and audience participation.
Expect barrels of laughs, surprises and scares, as this year’s City Hall pantomime performance promises to be one of the highlights of your family’s Christmas calendar.
Aladdin is performed at Sheffield City Hall from 27th December 2012 - 6th January 2013.
Tickets are £6 - £17.
