Worksop cricketer Luke Wood celebrated his maiden first class wicket for Notts this week, in their test match against Sussex.
Wood, a left arm seamer, took the wicket of former England international Michael Yardy with the first ball after tea on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old was making his debut for the county side, having impressed in second XI cricket.
Mick Newell, director of cricket at Trent Bridge, paid tribute to the former Portland student: “I thought Luke Wood was terrific. He was running in at half past five with the same skill and aggression that he showed when he was running in half past ten.”
“It was good that the captain put him on to bowl straight after tea and I’m very pleased he got that first wicket.”
