After a great season in the Kerry League and finishing champions, Trinity U10s went seeking further glory in the Babworth seven-a-side tournament.
Trinity cruised to victory in game one, overturning Harworth 3-0.
They then drew 1-1 with Babworth.
Trinity had to beat Blyth to go through and this they did, winning 3-1.
The group winners were drawn against rivals Forest Rangers in the semi-finals, and after two minutes Forest were a goal up.
The second half was end-to-end until Trinity’s Brandon Preston sent the game into extra-time and Trinity grabbed two further goals to go through to the final.
The final proved to be Trinity’s hardest game, and a penalty shoot-out was needed to decide the winners after no goals in regulation time or in extra-time.
The teams were all-square going into the last penalty and with Branton missing their last penalty Daniel Rawlings struck the ball sweetly into the top corner of the goal giving the Branton keeper no chance and sending the Trinity players into ecstasy.
