RACELINE: TIP OF THE DAY 25th January

The wintry weather has again wiped out jumps racing today. But a special card of Flat races for National Hunt horses has been arranged on the Polytrack surface at Kempton. Here is our selection:

Friday January 25

SUERTE AL SALTO

Kempton 3.55 WIN

Champion trainer Paul Nicholls and top Irish jockey Ruby Walsh team up to join the cast assembling at Kempton today for a hastily-arranged card of Bumper races for National Hunt horses starved of action by the snow and ice. One of their best hopes of success is this novice hurdler, a six-year-old son of Old Vic owned by Paul Barber. He’s expected to have benefited from a two-month break since a couple of promising performances at Taunton in November when he was touched off into second despite travelling extremely well. Nicholls believes the Polytrack surface will suit him better than testing ground on Turf, while the return to 2m round a sharpish track should help too.

YESTERDAY: THE WESTENER BOY FELL

TIP OF THE DAY SUPPLIED BY SCOOP RACING (RICHARD SILVERWOOD).
