Former Worcestershire secretary and chief executive, Reverend Prebendary Mike Vockins OBE, is guest speaker at the Bassetlaw Umpires Association meeting on Saturday (2nd March).
He held his post at New Road for 30 years and was responsible for all public and media relations.
He was also there during the time of Glenn Turner, Ian Botham, Graham Dilley, Basil D’Olivera and Graham Hick.
The guest speaker has recently written an acclaimed autobiography about the life of the last England Football and Cricket international Arthur Milton.
Rev Vockins also managed five international overseas tours as manager of England Under- 19 and England A teams.
He retains an active involvement in top-level cricket as a member of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s major match group, which is responsible for the allocation of Test matches, one- day internationals and other big games.
The meeting will be staged in the Club House at Cuckney at 2.30pm.
