A Worksop youngster overcame his nemesis to capture a county table tennis title this week.

Tom McIntosh won the Notts Schools Under 13 title at Redlands Table Tennis Centre.

He took on and beat fellow Worksop player Martynas Riauba in the semi-final and won 3-0.

In the final he came up against Naphat Boonyaprapa, who plays with McIntosh in the County junior side.

In all their years of playing, McIntosh, ranked 17th in the country at Under 15 level, has never beaten Boonyaprapa, ranked 15th, until this week.

They played what many believed was the best county final in years, before McIntosh came out on top, winning 3-2.

McIntosh will now represent Notts at the English Schools Individual Finals at Tipton on Saturday 25th April.

He was also in action for Outwood Academy Valley at Bradford on Sunday, with team-mates Martynas Riauba, Orestas Riauba and Josh Nelson, winning the zonal stage to progress to the regional finals at Grantham on 22nd March.
