Many fine performances and a host of good times were recorded by Worksop Dolphins when they hosted the first round of the Derby and Notts Junior Swimming League on Saturday night.
Dolphins finished fourth in the six-team gala with 177 points, ahead of City of Derby B, who scored 146, and Sutton B, who claimed 68 points.
The gala was won by the vastly improved Sutton-in-Ashfield A team, who look sure to be a force to be reckoned with. Sutton amassed 207 points to beat runners-up Arnold (196) and third-placed Calverton and Bingham (181).
Dolphins also hosted successful licensed level-four time trials when many personal-best times were clocked. And it has been announced that the club will switch to the West Midlands section of the National Arena League for the 2016 season, which begins in October.
For many years, they competed in the North-East section and then the East Midlands, so the change will mean a new experience for the club.
