Around 200 took to the streets of Worksop on Sunday, in the Worksop Harriers’ annual Fun Run.
The 3k race was part of the 33rd Half Marathon, with a Halloween theme and dozens of runners in fancy dress.
Tuxford’s Samuel Roberts crossed the finish line first in a time of 10:58.
The Tuxford Academy student, who runs for Sheffield, was joined on the start line by his mum, dad and little brother.
But it was Samuel who sprinted to victory despite a late challenge from second placed Dylan George.
Roberts said: “It was tough, very windy.”
“The guy that came second was catching me a bit so I had to push.”
Having raced since he was nine, he’s no stranger to standing on top of the podium.
“I’m Notts County champion for 800m and 1500m, and I finished third in the Welsh Nationals.”
