The David Lane Memorial Match, run by son Dorian Lane was a huge success again this year.
This has become one of the area’s most prestigious angling events
In tribute to the late David Lane, this event raises much needed funds for Bassetlaw Hospice.
This year’s event was held at Wetlands and attracted more anglers than ever, filling the entire match lake.
Mel Kirton continued his good form, winning the event with 77lb of carp but it was a close call.
Andy Hill and Kev Martin were not far behind sharing joint second place with over 75lb. Ronnie fern also got into the running with over 52lb.
Many thanks to Dorian and all the organisers and Wetlands owners Clive and Sheila for freeing-up the venue for the event.
Thanks to The Best Western Lion Hotel and Savoy Cinema for donating the prizes.
Special thanks also to Solway Foods who donated all the food and sandwiches on the day.
What a fantastic event and testament to local people and businesses that pull out all the stops to support such a worthy charity.
What better way to pay tribute to David?
