The club was set up in the wake of the London 2012 Olympics.

Necessary kit and transition routines will also be on the agenda, before introductions to the bike and run courses.

The day is likely to finish around 2.30pm.

Organiser of the novice training day, Gavin Hodgson from Bassetlaw Triathlon Club, said: “Our aim as a club is to introduce 250 people to the sport.”

“We’ve still got spaces available for our sprint triathlon on 4th August.”

The sprint triathlon on 4th August will involve a 400m pool swim at Valley Leisure Centre, a 21k bike ride and then a 5k run.

Entrants will have electronic chips so they can print out breakdowns of their performance.
