The Sheffield Steelers have confirmed the departure of forward Jay Latulippe.

Latulippe has returned to his former side Kristianstads IK in Sweden, where he played during the 2013/14 season.

“I wish Jay all the very best, we leave on good terms,” said head coach Gerad Adams.

“He had an opportunity to return to his former club which was a good one and at this stage of his career I could understand his decision.”

“We werent going to stand in his way.”

The gritty player expressed his gratitude to the Steelers for a positive experience at the Motorpoint Arena: “I’d like to thank the entire Sheffield Steelers organisation for giving me the opportunity to come play here.”

“It’s first class all around from the front office to the fans.”

“I had a great experience here and it was an honor to wear and battle in a Sheffield jersey night in and night out.”

Steelers host another of Latulippe’s former clubs in the shape of the Cardiff Devils on Friday night, with a 7.30pm faceoff.
