Promising Laughton youngster Erin Lobley has taken a county athletics title, to add to a growing collection.

Last weekend the Year 5 pupil at Sheffield High Junior School was crowned South Yorkshire Indoor Champion at the clubs athletics championships, competing for Hallamshire Harriers.

Erin already has a collection of top three placings in the UK rankings in the long jump, 150m and 200m events.

The athletics ability clearly runs in the family, with younger sisters Evie and Freja also budding sporting competitors.

Although Evie, in Year 4, and Freja, a Year 2 pupil, have only just started competitions, the latter has won her first two events, and the Lobley family will be spending a great deal of time trackside in the near future.

Their club, Hallamshire Harriers, has been providing athletics in Sheffield for over 100 years.
