The now annual battle for the Royal Wedding Rose Bowl, contested between Worksop, Nether Edge, Abbeydale and Fulwood saw over 80 bowlers in action.
With fierce competition from the Yorkshire sides, Worksop could only muster four wins out of their nine matches, and finished third behind worthy winners Fulwood and runners-up Abbeydale.
Consolation for Worksop was captain Dave Ellis winning the nearest to the bottle of whiskey, placed in the centre of the green.
Ellis told the Guardian the event was a roaring success.
“At times the atmosphere was more like a cricket match than a sedate bowling match,” he said.
The first event was played at Fulwood in 2011 to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Six ladies and six men represent each club.
