Worksop pool star Shane Robinson is continuing to break records as he attempts to repeat last year’s success.

Robinson, a local grandfather, has now re-qualified for the England Seniors team for a fifth year on the trot and in doing so has set a new record for both the summer and winter pool leagues.

Locally, Robinson has helped the Notts team claim the seniors title in region eight.

Furthermore he has won the team knock-out competition with Breakers for the last six seasons.

Last year was also a fantastic year on the European and world stage for Robinson as he was runner up in the European individual, reached the semi-finals of the team event and won the England seniors trials, which gave him a spot in the England A team.

The success continued as England A won the World Team Championships.

Robinson was made captain of the England B team for the 2014 campaign.

And the team recently took the 2014 European and World titles respectively, along with a second place finish in the league.

The route to the World Championship triumph included a 5-3 victory over national rivals England A in the semi finals – despite three world champions lining up for England A.

Robinson’s team set up a final against Malta A and it was down to the captain to take the final frame and become the only England Senior with European and World titles to his name.
