Over 500 at Clumber for regional orienteering

A regional orienteering event at Clumber Park on Sunday attracted over 550 runners.

Bassetlaw runners did well and produced a number of encouraging runs, particularly from George Carley who was joint first on the Orange course.

Douglas Barnes finished 15th in his first run at this level.

Results: Blue Course: Robert Parkinson 42nd, Graeme Huggan 76th; Short Blue Course: Helen Parkinson 58th; Green Course: Alexander Ridgway 59th, Oonah Ridgway 69th, Cameron Ridgway 73rd; Light Green Course: Eleanor Cooley 19th; Orange Course: George Carley =1st; Yellow Course: Alice Carley 5th, Douglas Barnes 15th.

Next week the orienteering action is on Saturday morning at Boundary and Tippings Woods, near Blidworth.

Registration is from 10am to 11am, with starts from 10.30am to 11.30am.
