Lowe hits another high with a personal best at Wilmslow

Clowne Road Runner Gareth Lowe produced a personal best time to finish first in his age category at the Wilmslow Half Marathon.

The race attracted around 4,000 runners, and a quality field all battling it out for in excess of £10,000.

Gareth Lowe finished in 1:10:52 totake 12th place and win the first Vet 40 award.

The Road Runner is training hard for the London Marathon in April and is hoping to dip under the 2hours 30 minutes mark.

Not to be out done Lewis Lowe produced a personal best in the same race, recording a time of 1:31:20.

Other Clowne Road Runenrs were Ged Naylor 1:33:54 and Mark Baldwin 1:47:05.

Clowne Road Runners were also represented at The Dronfield 10km.

This race is now in its 21st year.

It’s a two lap road race set in Dronfield Woodhouse, Sheffield, with an undulating course, and this year it attracted over 800 runners.

First home for Clowne Road Runners was Wayne West in 40:26, followed by Paula Macpherson who ran 56:29, Katy Taylor in 56:48 and Jane Aram who finished in 59:07.

Competing in the 2km Fun Run was Clowne Road Runner, Catilin Hazelton.

Paul Sadler was the lone runner travelling to Thirsk to run the Thirsk 10mile Road race.

He finished 204th in a time of 1:09:00, in a field of over 800 runners in this popular road race.

Simon Sleney was the lone fell runner taking part in the Edale Skyline Fell Race, a 32.8km course around Edale with 770m of climbing.

Sleney completed the course in 4:39:25.
