Lee Westwood made history last weekend, becoming the first player to take part in 50 World Golf Championship events.

The Worksop golfer finished in a tie for 12th on the leaderboard and pocketed $123,000 in prize money, ending the event at Trump National Doral in his now native Florida even par.

He was one under for the first round, before an even par second round of 72 left him just outside the top 10.

On Saturday he was two under and sat eighth going into the final round, but two bogeys on the front nine and a double bogey at 10 left him a lot to do and he finished with a 75.

This weekend the 41-year-old is in action at the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor in Florida.
