Worksop’s John and Trish Westwood have flown out to cheer on their 41-year-old son, who’s hunting a third Nedbank Golf Challenge title in four years.
The course record holder at Sun City says the tournament ranks highly with the players.
“It’s a great field here. It always is.”
“It’s one of the big sporting extravaganzas in the South African calendar and they get a lot of world-class players here.”
“I’ve been lucky enough to win it a couple of times and it’s a great title to win.”
“Every player wants to have it on their CV.”
The former Valley student teed off on Thursday morning in a high profile group, alongside Martin Kaymer and Louis Oosthuizen.
