THE John Hunt Memorial is to be fished on Saturday 6th October at Riverside fishery, Hawksnest, near Bawtry.

The entry fee is £11, and for further details contact Terry Pixley on 07802 217200.

We have news that the River Idle, on the Whitehouse section just above stream from Ordsall Road bridge has been fishing extremely well for specimen chub.

Retford rod Darren Bousted landed a pair weighing 3lb 14oz and an outstanding one of 5lb 1oz just over the magic 5lb barrier.

Darren tempted these fine fish on ledgered halibut pellet and sweetcorn presented on a hair rig, and we are informed that as the weed dies down the river will come in o fine Autumn form.

Unfortunatly this length can not be fished on a day ticket but season tickets are available priced at £20 and £15 for concessions.

For more details contact Jon on 07597 070092.
