A local rider has qualified for two classes at the Horse of the Year Show.

Shelley Heywood took first in the Riding Horse Hack class and second in the Racehorse to Riding Horse class at the SEIB Search for a Star and Racehorse to Riding Horse 2014 qualifier at Osbaldestone in Lancashire.

Creswell’s Heywood was delighted with her horse, Ingleby Hill.

She said: “I just can’t believe we have qualified for two classes at HOYS.”

“Ingleby Hill hasn’t put a foot wrong.”

“I have ridden since I was eight but he is only the second horse I have ever owned – I picked a good one.”

“He was too laid back to race and I bought him as a ‘happy hacker’”, said Heywood, who trains the horse with friend Rebecca Gribben.

“Someone suggested having a go at showing and I got talked into it”.

Heywood and Ingleby Hill will compete at The SEIB Search for a Star Championship finals at the Horse of the Year Show in October at the Birmingham NEC.
