Mark Foster got his form back on course, with a share of 22nd place at the BMW International Open in Germany last weekend.
The Worksop golfer finished just four shots off the lead, after rounds of 70, 69, 65 and 69 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof in Cologne.
Paraguay’s Fabrizio Zanotti finished 19 under par, and beat Henrik Stenson, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Gregory Havret in a four-hole play-off.
For Foster, it marked a return to form with his best result since the BMW PGA Championship at Wentoworth in May, when he finished in a tie for 26th place.
Three consecutive missed cuts followed, but the 38-year-old arrested his slump in Germany and will be hoping to continue the improvement at the Alstom Open de France, at Le Golf National.
Foster was due to tee off alongside Lee Slattery and Shiv Kapur at 11.50am on Thursday morning.
Next week, Foster and fellow Worksop golfer Lee Westwood are in action at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
