Dinnington Rugby Club’s first team had a weekend off, giving them the chance to prepare for the final four games of the Yorkshire One league campaign.
The promotion chasers begin their final four-week schedule starting at Heath on Saturday.
At this stage of the season, nothing can be taken for granted.
Although Heath are near the bottom of the division, it has not been a happy hunting ground for the Lodge Laners who on a few occasions have travelled in high hopes only to return in frustration. ]
Last year’s corresponding fixture ended with a 26-18 victory for the home side.
Dinnington then host fellow title hopefuls Ilkley on 29th March in what could be a game that goes a long way towards deciding the destination of the title.
A visit to fourth-placed Selby follows on 5th April, a tough encounter against a side looking for revenge after Dinnington’s 31-27 win at Lodge Lane earlier in the season.
And the final outing of the 2013/14 season will be at Lodge Lane.
Sixth placed Old Brodleians will be the visitors, the side who beat Dinnington 21-13 on the opening day of the campaign.
Dinnington seconds were due to take on Mansfield last weekend, but the opposition cried off late and no game could be arranged to replace it in time.
This Saturday the second string will visit Scunthorpe’s third team.
Dinnington III will be at home to Scunthorpe IV.
The Veterans, meanwhile, have no more scheduled fixtures this season.
In 2013/14 they’ve won three, drawn one and lost two of their outings.
