The third race in the Inter Club Cross Country series took place at Manton Wood, hosted by Worksop Harriers.

Unfortunately for Clowne Road Runners, as many as 15 of their regular runners were injured or training for the forthcoming Manchester marathon.

The lack of numbers resulted in Clowne Road Runners conceding second place to their local rivals Worksop Harriers.

First man home for Clowne was Jordan Street in a time of 36:04, with Sarah Attwood leading the Clowne ladies home in a time of 42:19.

The fourth race in the series will be hosted by Retford Athletics Club on 15th February.

The race starts at 11am.

Graham Worsfold 36:42, Steve Battle 38:13, Richard Hind 38:46, Paul Sadler 41:07, Chris Lane0 41:09, Adrian Webster 41:34, Ian Brookes 44:17, Roy Butterworth 45:09, Lorraine Craib 45:44, Karen Shipman 46:26, Robert Houghton 47:06, Barbera Rusling 47:14, Greg Goddard 50:40, Lynn Hazelton 52:53, David Goater 53:02, Emma Mackie 55:11, Helen Callender 57:17, Gemma Hind0 57:22, Catherine Jones 59:17.

The Dewsbury 10km Road Race saw Clowne Road Runners star Gareth Lowe finish fourth out of 1,075 runners in an impressive time of 32:14.

Lowe’s finish was good enough to see him take the Vets 40 award.

Clubmate Ged Naylor finished 116th thanks to his time of 37:50.

Naylor was third runner home in the over 50s vet category.
