Clowne Road Runner Christime Stimpson took on old military roads, cleared tracks through ancient woodland and the grassed paths of Thoresby Hall’s country estate.

She finished the Longhorn 10km, held at the Grade 1 listed 19th Century country house in North Notts, in a time of 57:53.

Two of her clubmates, meanwhile, took part in the Derwent Dambuster 10 mile race.

This is an annual event to raise funds for Challenge Cancer Through Adventure.

The event is a 10-mile run in the beautiful Derwent Valley.

Winning the race in a time of 57:36 minutes was Road Runner Darren King.

Fellow Clowne runner John Proffit finished in 1:29:00.

A grand total of 7,811 runners completed the Great Manchester Marathon, billed as the ‘flattest, fastest and friendliest UK Marathon,’ with a finish set at Manchester United Football Club.

First home for Clowne Road Runners in an impressive 49th position overall was Dan Page.

Page finished in a time of 2:42:37.

He was followed home by clubmates Paul Sadler (3:21:51), Julie White (3:52:51), Michelle Needham (3:59:27), Karen Shipman (3:57:56), Suzanne Leusby (4:06:19) and Debbie Leese (4:30:18).
