LOCAL youngster Jackson Brooks is shooting for gold this week.

The 12-year-old from Carlton flew to California on Tuesday, to captain his GB roller hockey team in the AAU Junior Olympics.

His mum Vicky told the Guardian: “We’re so proud of his achievements and his dedication.”

In November, Jackson and his nine-year-old sister Olivia will travel to Hong Kong to represent Great Britain in their respective age groups.
