Worksop golfer Ryan Brown has won through to the next stage of European Tour qualification in Spain.
The Worksop Golf Club product was nine under for the first stage at Oxfordshire venue Frilford Heath, and now looks forward to a trip to Valencia on 7th November.
Brown was just two shots back from stage winner Mark Laskey, from Wales.
He hopes to play a similar quality next month, as he looks to make it through to a gruelling six round marathon at European Tour destination PGA Catalunya Resort in the final qualifying stage.
He told the Guardian: “I’m looking forward to my next stage in Valencia.”
“I hope to be playing as strong as I did in the first stage at Frilford. I feel I’ve had a good season, but this would end my year on a high note.”
Brown was a shot behind Laskey after the first round, with a frantic finish, his closing seven holes comprising of five birdies and two bogeys.
Round two was even better for Brown, who shot a seven under par round of 65, with four birdies in his last six holes to move to 12 under par for the tournament.
A level par third round followed, before Brown carded a three over par 75.
He thanked all those who have helped him on his way to such good form.
“I would like to thank my sponsor Neil Dexter, Pete Cowan, John Westwood and Kevin Crossland for their help with my game, and PING, Apple Fitness, Specsavers and Reuben’s.”
