Two Bondhay Golf Club members finished joint runners-up in the Golf Care Matchplay Championship mixed pairs finals in May.
Stephen Cammack and Sue Clark were in action at the Els Club in Dubai, at the UK’s biggest amateur golf event.
Winners of the North Regional final, the pair from Clowne put in an excellent performance and secured their runner-up place in the final with a total score of 112 after three rounds, finishing four under par.
A proud Sue said: “It’s a shame we missed out on winning but are delighted to have finished in runner-up place.”
We’ve had an incredible time in Dubai, the course was excellent and the whole trip has been organised so well.”
John Woosey, Golf Care Managing Director, said, “It was a dramatic climax to the three days of competition with some jaw-dropping shots.!
“Stephen and Sue coped with the pressure brilliantly. “
“It’s not an easy course and with Sky Sport filming their every move, it was an intense environment.”
“Everyone has had a memorable time and we hope it encourages more to enter.”
