Last Sunday, 12 Bassetlaw juniors represented Notts in the final of the national junior team knock-out cup, known as the Yvette Baker Trophy.

The event was held at Belton Park, near Grantham and had the best junior teams in the UK competing, some teams bringing current junior internationals to run for them.

Bassetlaw juniors performed very well and helped Notts finish a very creditable ninth out of 13 teams, just one point behind 8th place.

It was the club’s best performance for three years.

Good performances were recorded across all age groups despite the head high grass, nettles and very hot temperatures.

Bassetlaw junior results were:

Green Course – Ben Beresford 5th, Will Parkinson 17th; Light Green Course – Jess Beresford 11th; Orange Course – Alexander Ridgway 11th, Eleanor Cooley 11th, Stefan Taylor 24th; Yellow Course – Tom Cooley 19th, James Recaldin 24th, George Carley 25th, Fraser Ridgway 26th, Lauren Emery 33rd, Rhiannon Emery 37th.
