WORKSOP pool player Shane Robinson has requalified for the England Seniors team.
The delighted grandfather has represented his country before and told the Guardian that requalifying was a proud achievement for him.
“It’s quite good really, as the older you get it’s that little bit harder,” he said.
Robinson will take part in a warm up match on 4th June at Leicester, and later that month will contest the World Championships in Blackpool – a competition in which he has previously been a finalist.
He has also set his sights on the European Championships in February next year, which will be held in either Ireland or Spain.
With a new grandson, Ryan, being born into the family recently, the pool and snooker star has extra incentive to succeed on the table.
He told the Guardian: “I’ve decided to dedicate my tournaments to him.”
“I would love to have my grandkids playing for the England Pool team one day.”
