Worksop Hockey Club’s first team got off to the worst possible start on Saturday, but still ended the afternoon 4-3 winners over City of York.
In an opening 20 minutes they will want to forget, Worksop were 3-0 down to York and were staring at a heavy defeat.
Skipper Simon Cardwell, made some tactical changes however, with Nash replacing Unwin in the back four.
The changes paid off with immediate effect as a pile driver into the D was skilfully diverted into the top corner by Mackenzie Glasby.
A cynical foul then resulted in a short corner. and Sam Gawthorpe dragged home his third goal in five matches since returning from injury.
Rejuvenated by the improved performance, the hosts headed out into the second half sensing a fightback.
They were level 15 minutes in, Tom Rix forcing a short corner and from the resultant set piece Cardwell sent an unstoppable drag flick into the net.
With five minutes left on the clock a lovely flowing move involving Skinner, Nash and Cardwell resulted in Glasby completing his brace as he danced his way around two defenders and kept his cool to round the keeper before slotting into the empty net.
Man of the Match was Artur Nash.
On Saturday the firsts visit Huddersfield Dragons, the seconds host Sheffield Bankers at Valley and the thirds Valtravel to Kingston.
