Mark Shaw is hoping to have a selection headache, ahead of the visit of Buxton on Saturday.

The Tigers boss revealed that injured quartet Leon Mettam, Jack Muldoon, Conor Higginson and Marc Goodfellow were all going to train on Thursday in an attempt to be ready for the match.

Their return would certainly pose a few difficult questions for Shaw, with Jamie Jackson and Tom Denton in good form, and Evan Garnett impressing off the bench last weekend.

He said: “It looks like they’ll all be training, so they’re all hoping to be in contention for selection.”

“That would mean a difficult choice in what team we select and how we play.”

Shaw was delighted with Garnett’s debut at Barwell on Saturday, when the youngster came on as a substitute and made an instant impact.

“We brought him in because we wanted something different off the bench, mainly pace and desire.”

“He scored with his first touch and had a few other chances, it’s not a bad start for him and he’s not fully fit yet.”

“I’m really pleased with him.”

The mananger was also happy to emerge from Barwell with the three points, despite the hosts making life difficult.

“If you take away the first 63 seconds I thought we were the better team in the first half.”

“We showed character to come back from a goal down, and had some quality on a very, very poor pitch.”

“In the second half we didn’t get going for the first 15 minutes and Barwell had a really good go at us.”

“We changed the formation and tried to go a different way and it worked a bit and I think we finished quite strong.”

He’s warning his side that Buxton will be equally as determined as Barwell to get a victory.

“I expect them to be really physical, they’ll have a bee in their bonnet and will want to remind us that they’re a good side,” he said.

“Returning managers always want to do well against former clubs and I think Martin McIntosh will have them fired up.”

“We’ve got to go out and perform and show everyone that we’re not inconsistent.”
