IT was sweet 16 for the Bassetlaw Sports Awards on Friday night, as Olympic and Commonwealth swimmer Mark Foster and Paralympic cyclist Crystal Lane dished out the prizes.

The 16th annual awards recognised the sporting achievements of 72 nominees, including youngsters, club officials, coaches and volunteers.

There was a table tennis demonstration by Steve Walker and Tom MacIntosh of Redlands Table Tennis Club, and entertainment from Retford Oaks Academy’s performing arts students and school choir.
