DINNINGTON Town boss Steve Toyne believes a new sponsorship deal has ‘removed one of the nails’ from the club’s coffin.

With the Phoenix Park men struggling to make ends meet, AFP Van Hire have stepped in to help out with travel to away games.

Toyne told the Guardian: “They’re providing a vehicle for away games for us, sponsoring the vehicle.”

“It’s an unbelievable help, this kind of support – it takes a nail out of the coffin for the club.”

John Pickering of AFP Van Hire added: “We’re just helping out a local club and it gives us some advertising in a different field.”

Town are in action this weekend, visiting AFC Emley.

The club have signed Leigh Warriner from Hallam this week – full story in next week’s Guardian.

l TOWN’S reserve side are at home to Borrowash Victoria on Wednesday night, week, with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Toyne said: “They’re well worth watching, we have some great young players coming through.”
