Mugglestone misses play-off in Kent

ROY Mugglestone, of Lindrick Golf Club, missed out on a play-off by just one shot in last week's EuroPro Tour event at Princes Golf Club in Kent.

Steady golf throughout the week saw him open with a two under par 70, including three birdies and one bogey.

Another 70 on day two this time with four birdies and a double bogey put him in a good position going into the final round.

Poor weather made it difficult for the players but the seasoned campaigner showed the youngsters how to play in difficult conditions as he was the only player to break 70.

His excellent round of 68 was spoilt by the only bogey of the round that saw him miss out on the extra holes, but he picked up third place with his total of 208, eight under par.

James Freeman, of Worksop Golf Club, missed the cut after shooting 80-75=155.
