The Guardian cannot yet reveal the sites being considered by the Tigers board because negotiations are at such an early and delicate stage.
But the spot Mr Hepworth calls 'absolutely perfect' is close to the town centre and has excellent road links.
"The best option would be for us to build a brand new ground here in Worksop and bring the club back home," said Mr Hepworth.
"We have identified eight places where it would be possible for us to build the new ground and one of these is top of our list - it would be perfect."
"Whether we will be able to get that particular spot or not remains to be seen - but we are very hopeful."
The chairman said the board were hoping to construct a ground that would qualify for a Blue Square Premier League grading and be suitable to continue unmodified as the Tigers' home should they progress two divisions higher than their current status.
The stadium would be likely to consist of a single covered and seated side, with standing terraces behind both goals and on the remaining side.
Mr Hepworth said the capacity for such a ground would be around 4,000 and they would be seeking funding for the project from various sporting foundations such as Sport England and The Football Trust.
When asked about options other than building a new ground, Mr Hepworth was quick to rule out a possible groundshare with neighbours Retford United.
"Retford's ground does not meet the grading standards for our current league, the UniBond Premier, and I don't think either club or either set of supporters would be very enthusiastic about building a ground for both clubs to use."
"Whilst Tigers appreciate the welcome given to them by Hucknall Town, we view it as a temporary measure only."
Over 200 Tigers fans have bought special 100 season tickets after an appeal by the club.
And a series of fundraising activities have been arranged to ensure the financial stability of the club during their time in exile.
Mr Hepworth added: "We are arranging a dinner similar in scale to the one held by Bassetlaw MP John Mann when the 1970 Brazilian World Cup winning footballers visited."
