Backing the Boss

A WORKSOP business is pulling no punches in support of a Sheffield boxer.

Worksop Timber Co Ltd is backing Ross 'the Boss' Burkinshaw in his bid for a British title next week.

The super-flyweight prospect, from Deepcar in Sheffield, takes on Lee Haskins live on Sky TV next Friday, and his Worksop sponsor believes he'll bring the belt back from Sunderland.

Dean Arnold, of Worksop Timber Co Ltd, told the Guardian: "I met Ross at Sheffield Boxing Centre, where I do a bit of training with Glyn Rhodes."

"He needed a bit of help with sponsorship and we're happy to back him."

"He's got a very bright future ahead of him and I think he'll win the belt next week."

Burkinshaw, 22, is a serving member of the Rifles Regiment, has a record of six wins, two draws and one loss.
