Alex wins at Haw Park, Wakefield

The weather took its toll on orienteering last weekend but events took place in Charnwood Forest and at Haw Park, Wakefield.

In the latter, a great run by Alexander Ridgway saw him win the Light Green course by three minutes.

This Saturday there is a night event at Ollerton Pit Wood.

There will be Short, Medium and Long courses, all starting between 6pm and 7pm.

Then, on 3rd March, the Midland Championships take place in Sherwood Forest.

With two weeks to go there are over 600 entries.

The popular Bassetlaw Primary Schools event will be in its 14th year in 2013.

This year, it will be taking place at Kings’ Park, in Retford, on Tuesday 12th March.

It will be a team score event, with the same format as the School Games.
